MORTAL KOMBAT II +11 TRAINER Version 3!
---------------------------------------
Hmmm, I love bugs. That's why version 2 of the trainer wouldn't work
properly when you pressed PLUS when you were running under certain memory
managers (EMM). Basically there is a bug in PMODE whereby if you allocate
DOS Memory (for Video data) using DPMI it would fuck up under certain
conditions. Anyways, its all fixed now by allocating it through DOS
instead. (BTW for all those who are wondering, this error was what caused the
8 to appear before the dos4gw banner.)
In my last version I talked about the lovely coding of the game, and one
thing in particular I decided to fix. You have probable noticed that when
you quit the game, the type rate is all screwed (this is also why if you hold
down a key in my menu the values change so slow). Now when you quit, it
restores the original so you can actually use other programs without having
to reset.
Two new options in here as well. PLAYER 1 WINS and PLAYER 2 WINS. These
are pretty self explanatory, but they also allow access to other areas in the
game. Some of you will have seen a text file floating around about how after
25 wins you play a new warrior, Noob Saibot. Well to get to him straight
away do the following:
o Press F1 and F2 and select your warriors
o Change the value in the menu for your player to 24
o Kill the other person.
You will now have 25 wins and go off to challenge the new warrior.
NOTES FOR Version 2
-------------------
OK, I have done some major recoding of the engine and it is now half the
size of the previous version and appears to be free from bugs. Sorry to the
people who found that the player 2 health in version 1 didn't work. Basically
I was really tired and mistyped it's location in before releasing it. I was
in a hurry since I knew I wouldn't be able to work on it again till today, and
there were some people nagging me for it!
This game has to be one of the worst coded that I have ever seen. The same
values stored multiple times all over the place. Two copies of the code
loaded in memory, and numerous other annoying bugs. Still, I guess who really
cares when you get an outcome with the quality of this game, which in my
opinion is the best arcade conversion I have seen. Anyways there are a few
things that have changed from version 1 that you need to know:
Firstly to avoid the problem at the start up with the machine freezing when
you press a key at the first text, I have put in a delay to deactivate the
menu until the acclaim logo is loaded (or there abouts).
Secondly there are a few hidden features of my trainer that you can use for
practicing by enabling certain options with certain values. For instance,
say if you want to practise performing FATALITIES with a certain character,
do the following. (This is assuming that you are PLAYER 2 and the computer
is PLAYER 1. You can obviously swap these if you are playing the other way
around!)
o Press F2 and select your player
o In the game press + for the menu
o Change PLAYER 1 HEALTH down to 0 and toggle this option on
o Make sure PLAYER 2 HEALTH (you) is above 0
o Change PL 2 ROUND'S WON to 1 and toggle on
o Toggle CURRENT ROUND to on
This will enable you to endlessly try fatalities without changing people or
locations.
NOTE: If the CURRENT ROUND gets above 4 the game will end (because there
are only meant to be at most 3 rounds!).
NOTES FOR Version 1
-------------------
NOTE: For some reason the game will freeze if you try and activate the
trainer menu when the white text before the Acclaim logo is shown. Not even
ALT-Q to quit to DOS will work so just DON'T PRESS A KEY. However, from then
on, everything is fine and you can do whatever you like. I don't have time
to figure out what is going on, and since the rest of the trainer works just
fine, I don't really care.
Also, if you are a GUS user don't forget to load your drivers before you
run the trainer. Ingame keys are as follows:
GREY + - Loads menu where you can alter values and toggle with ease!
1 - Toggles option to hold number of kredits where they are.
2 - Toggles option to hold player 1's health at current level.
3 - Toggles option to hold player 2's health at current level.
The health levels for players 1 and 2 are out of 140. This corresponds to
the width of the health bar in pixels on the screen.
This trainer will not modify ANY files on your hard drive. If you don't
believe me, load the trainer, reboot during the middle of the game, and do a
file compare with another copy of the original file. There will be no
difference!
GREETS!:
To get to what you now see took quite a few recodes (to make it good enough
so that it will work with almost every protected mode program with minimal
alterations!). A few thankyous are in order though:
MAT!!! - Hey boieeeee! Just a big thankyou for all your help with telling
me about the stupid little quirks with assembler, and with going
through my program. Waddaya mean ya never heard of STI!!
PRIME!!! - This trainer would still be fucked if you hadn't put me on to
PMODE/W instead of that DOS4GW shit. I would also be navigating
through lovely white text with cryptic numbers, so thanks for da
font and palette.
DAREDEVIL/TRANQ - Thanks for coding PMODE/W and actually putting in the
majority of DPMI calls. You were also so quick in fixing
the fixup bug which now allows all this to run!
ALL TRAINER CODERS WITH A CLUE! - Hopefully this will inspire you to move
away from the dos based patches and save
cheats! There are a few of you out there
I know who will be able to figure out what
I've done. If you do, and decide to use
the same methods in your trainers, all I
ask for is a greet!
CONTACT INFO
------------
It is more than likely that there are a few bugs that have escaped me at
the moment. I already know that the trainer will not work under windows,
and this is PMODE/W's fault. In this version of the trainer engine, all
interupts are frozen in the menu (hence the sound freezes) in order to avoid
the bug in Warcraft whereby all your men had epileptic fits for a while!
If you come across a bug which is not the above, or have a request for a
trainer for an old protected mode game, then leave me a message on 2112, or any
decent Australian board. However, if you are a lamer and leave me a message,
saying would you like to join my group, or would you mind sending me the source,
I think you can guess what I am going to do. NOTHING!
